“K.62″ is a new orchestrated performance by acclaimed installation artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster created in collaboration with renowned composer and performer Ari Benjamin Meyers, with whom Gonzalez-Foerster worked on last fall’s performance installation “NY.2022,” presented at the Guggenheim Museum. Inspired by Orson Welles’s unforgettable film version of “The Trial” (1962), “K.62″ is a musical mystery that involves an audience, an orchestra, a little bit of magic, and a lot of imagination. A dark comedy of missed connections, with a participatory element that will test the expectations of the audience when faced with the unknown, this new performance celebrates the angst and anxiety, courage and vision of downtown New York.

Since the early 90s, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster (b. Strassbourg, France, 1965) has developed an extremely varied body of work that includes film projections, photography, and spatial installations developed on her own and in collaboration with others.

Ari Benjamin-Meyers (b. New York, 1972) is known for the wide spectrum of his musical activities—he has conducted opera, played in various rock bands, composed music for theater, film, and dance, and started Club Redux, a series of events featuring Redux Orchestra, bringing modern music into the Berlin club scene.
