Israeli visual artist Cytter’s first evening-length theatrical production combines dance, video, and music to tell the story of liberal activist John Webber and graphic designer Linda Schultz, who are each unexpectedly transformed into the opposite sex in a performance that uses the artist’s trademark “kitchen-sink existentialism” to wittily address the frustrations and confines of social roles.
Keren Cytter’s (Tel Aviv, 1977) prolific artistic practice has gained an outstanding international recognitionin the past few years. Since completing her post graduate studies in the studio program de Ateliers in Amsterdam, Cytter held solo presentations at the Lyon Biennial (2007), Galleria d‘Arte Moderna eContemporanea, Bergamo (2006), Kunsthalle Zürich, Zurich (2005), Frankfurter Kunstverein, Frankfurt amMain (2005), Stedelijk Museum Bureau, Amsterdam (2004).
