Tracey Emin will read from her new book of poems “Those Who Suffer Love” and from her critically acclaimed 2008 autobiography “Strangeland,” followed by Q&A moderated by RoseLee Goldberg.
Tracey Emin (b. London, UK, 1963) came to prominence in the 1990’s as part of the group the YBA’s (Young British Artists). Working across media in painting, video, and installation, her practice explores various conceptions of femininity, the tension between private and public in sexual politics, and the contemporary culture of voyeurism. In 1999, she was nominated for the Turner Prize and she represented the UK in the 2007 Venice Biennale. She has had solo exhibitions at the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, Platform Garanti Contemporary Art Center, Istanbul and National Portrait Gallery, London, among others.
