Commissions

The Performa Commissions program originates new performances by inviting artists, “many of whom have not worked ‘live’ before” to create work especially for the Performa biennial. Selected by Performa Director RoseLee Goldberg, commissioned artists work closely with the Performa production team from conceptualization to presentation, including international tours following the biennial. Several Performa Commissions have been made possible through dynamic partnerships with international organizations such as Sadler’s Wells, Documenta, and S.M.A.K.

I’m a mid career multi-disciplinary artist in Los Angeles who would like to introduce you to my company, L’Atelier Arts formed in 2007. We just completed a site specific commission, RAIN AFTER ASH for the biennial A x S Festival in Los Angeles, which was presented for 10 performances at the Pacific Asia Musuem. In 2010 I was commissioned by the Santa Monica Art Commission for their biennial festival GLOW, where I presented a 12 hour film, DAY FOR NIGHT, with original score on Santa Monica Beach. We subsequently screened the film in Poland at the Transatlantyk FIlm and Music Festival. My work has been commissioned and produced all over the West, several times at the Getty Museum, as well as at major theatres and festivals such as the Public, Mark Taper Forum, Spieltheatre in Holland and the Imaginate Festival in Scotland. I have won numerous awards including the Rockefeller MAP and been a Lucas Fellow at Montalvo. I’d love to share my work with you.
