Writing Live is a continuation of the ongoing Not For Sale public education series, which features artists, authors, and critics discussing the current issues in performance and new media, and the related task of writing about art and artists whose work encompasses several disciplines at once. Directed by RoseLee Goldberg and Defne Ayas, and organized in collaboration with Open Dialogues (Rachel Lois Clapham and Mary Paterson) at Cooper Union.

Apprenticeships

Performa will develop a pilot arts industry training program for New York City’s young artists that will run parallel to the biennial. 20-30 young people who have either left high school early or are currently not in college will be eligible to participate in a unique apprenticeship program which will both provide them with hands-on training and practical experience in fields such as video and photographic documentation, production for the stage, and arts administration with the objective of providing pathways to higher education and further professional training.
